Lead Digital Solutions Engineer

Job Description Summary

Lead Digital Solutions Engineer, as part of the Platform Solutions & Services team, will be responsible for supporting manufacturing application technology solution design, maintaining global templates and standards, providing technical direction and ensuring high-quality software products. The technical engineer is expected to have extensive experience, strong technical skills, leadership abilities and will collaborate with other departments to deliver technology solutions in support of the TGS organization goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define technical design specifications based on project requirements.
  • Design and implement Aveva solutions based on business requirements that are scalable, robust and secure
  • Build solution functionality using Aveva System platform, Work Tasks / MDM and EI modules and review for accuracy, performance and adherence to best practices.
  • Perform solution validation activities to ensure software quality & stability.
  • Assess system readiness for upgrade and facilitate upgrade planning & implementation including deployment of major version upgrades and adoption of new technology.
  • Support & troubleshoot resolution of technical issues causing stalled customer journeys or low adoption. Formulate remediation plans and lead execution.
  • Provide guidance to help standardize AVEVA product adoption and configuration across projects, sites, and regions.
  • Propose & implement AVEVA application tuning and performance advice.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
  • Ensure BD’s smart factory solution design contains appropriate functionality to help manufacturing sites achieve the company’s manufacturing operation objectives.
  • Ensure solutions remain current and compatible with BD’s infrastructure and applications landscape

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in creating solutions with AVEVA products like Aveva System platform, Work Tasks / MDM and EI.
  • Experience designing, implementing solutions with AVEVA technologies preferrably for Healthcare / Medical devices customers.
  • Proven experience with implementation of Aveva best practices and implementation of out of the box features.
  • Proven experience with release management, regression testing, and validation.
  • Proven ability to translate business process and user requirements into functional requirements and solution design.
  • Ability to influence others across various levels in the organization, work independently, and manage through ambiguity.
  • Ability to effectively balance and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience collaborating with SI delivery partners.
  • Experience managing SDLC deliverables in a GxP setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizing, planning and priority setting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex business / technical challenges.
  • Ability to blend process excellence with a solution mindset to solve business problems.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with other digital manufacturing solutions
  • Experience integrating digital manufacturing solutions with other SAP and non-SAP manufacturing & Quality platforms
  • Experience working with MuleSoft as a middleware platform
  • Experience working in a large matrixed and FDA regulated corporation
  • Domain experience in the Life Sciences Industry
