Sr. Supply Risk Leader (Procurement)
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director of Procurement Effectiveness, this position is responsible for leading the Strategy development, enhancement, deployment and the effectiveness of the BDX Supplier Risk Program,inclusive of strategy development and determining processes, technologies, reporting, etc. necessary for implementation.The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager works with each VP Procurement-Segment, VP of Direct and Indirect Procurement, relavent Directors in Procurement, and across all worldwide businesses to ensure BDX Supplier Risk Program is deployed.
The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager will lead the preperation and may be called on to present program status to BD’s ExLT, Audit Committee and Board Of Directors quarterly.
The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager will work to ensure leading technologies and third party providers are in place to provide insights, including how we track tier x risk.
The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager will interface with the Procurement function, GPLT and functional risk SMEs to take category and industry insights related to risk and ensures these are addressed in our risk model. The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager will also engage with both internal stakeholders including Information Security, Sustainability, Customer strategic Accounts team, Ethics and Compliance, Technology, legal etc. as well as externally with peers, industry experts and community organizations to ensure the risk program and strategy is best in class.
The Sr. Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the coordination of end-to-end risk management activities throughout the supplier lifecycle management from supplier identification to supplier phase out.
The Supplier Risk Sr. Manager may be asked to support in the assessment of new supplier risks as part of due dilligence process during M&A process.

50%- Lead development and execution of supplier risk strategy for the company that is best in class and takes into consideration emerging technologies and best practices. Work cross-functionally to enhance and expand the scope of risks and suppliers under risk management, inclusive of Direct, Indirect and R&D suppliers. Through the program strategy, enable the working teams with tools, processes, intelligence and governance to maintain risk adjusted strategies focused on business continuity and BD customer experience improvement. Lead development and deployment of risk management playbooks for key risk factors, ensure risk intelligence and feedback loop is in place to improve effectiveness of the program.
20%- Ensure there is a capable supply base risk management solution in place and optimized that meets the emerging needs of how we manage our third party risk. Overall management of key 3rd party relationships associated with suppliers who provide services in the areas of risk management and intelligence and integrating best practices into program.
10%- Ongoing management of the strategy inclusive of leading cross functional teams comprised of Business, Functional and Procurement leadership including active engagement with internal stakeholders including Information Security, Sustainability, Customer strategic Accounts team, Ethics and Compliance, TGS, legal etc. as well as peers and community organizations to ensure the risk program and strategy is best in class.
Effective management of tracking and reporting to ensure information is accurate and update to date, and reporting of appropriate analytics to various levels of the organization. Analytics could include; risk dashboards inclusive of near term and long term plans (SOS, retirement/mitigation plans)
Prepare ExLT, Audit Committee and Board of Director program content and assist in presentation quarterly
10%- Collaborate with Corporate Crisis Management team, Hypercare team and category management to ensure effective incident management practices are in place and supplier data is available for quick assessment of impact which can give competitive advantage for BD during disruptions.
Monitor global Risk, safety, and vendor disruptions to support and sometimes lead, incident management.
10%-Oversight of Supplier Risk Management processes and tools within the overall Category Management Process, to ensure Supplier Risk is managed by Procurement associates in alignment with the overall BD Supplier Risk strategy.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Prefer 5-10 years of business experience, ideally within a regulated manufacturing environment
- Prefer 5+ years of specific risk related work experience
- Prefer 2+ years of people management
- Travel as needed

Proficiency in Procurement, category management, Supplier Management in either or both Manufacturing and Services environments and risk management.
Deep knowledge of Risk strategies and practices within a manufacturing business and 3rd party Risk management providers
