Job Description Summary

This position exists to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs and People development. This position is responsible for GMP’s, high speed efficiency, process improvement, lean manufacturing, team development and overall production management to achieve Production objectives, quality standard, process yields and machine efficiencies. This position will also be responsible to achieve continuous improvement in production operations, waste reduction and resource utilization.

  • Ensures that both production and people are scheduled responsibly. 

  • Ensures regulatory compliance. 

  • Focuses on the customer and the customer’s expectations of our products and services. 

  • Supports management and its policies as well as Associates. 

  • Champions safety. 

  • Champions quality. 

  • Fosters a trusting environment. 

  • Leads by example.

  • Communicates and supports the vision for BD Holdrege and creates a line of sight for each Associate. 

  • Must assist department Team Leader and Manager in forecasting and budgeting activities.

  • May be required to complete a background check for interacting in the Sterilization Process.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Obey all company policies, standards, and rules, including but not limited to: Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures); Quality policies and rules.

  • Must maintain regular punctual attendance.

Education:

  • High school degree required.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (engineering, business or related major) preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading people in a structured environment required (preferably in a manufacturing environment).

  • 3 years prior manufacturing supervision experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Think through complex issues analytically, even in difficult, emotionally charged situations.

  • Analyze multiple causes and develop creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Maintain a clear sense of perspective, seeing different aspects of a problem and then focusing on the key issues.

  • Develop and hold a clear understanding of priorities.

  • Adapt style and approach to suit different audiences.

  • Handle multiple tasks proficiently.

  • Learn quickly when facing new problems.

  • Respond well to change/uncertainty.

  • Strategic and accountable for work of self-and/or others in department.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Computer skills (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint Word preferred) – basic.

Supervision: 

  • Provides leadership, direction and supervision for non-exempt Associates, including writing performance reviews, 6 hourly associates.

Work Environment (if applicable):

  • High speed manufacturing environment.  Must remain alert and focused.

  • No air-conditioning in parts of sterilization/warehouse area.

  • May have intermittent exposure to chemicals;

  • Degree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration and chemicals.

  • When working outside, any & all physical elements of weather & temperature may be present. Inside, noise is the major distraction.

  • Safety glasses must be worn when in the warehouse; and

  • Some physical exertion, including lifting, may be required.
