Job Description SummaryThe Implementation Consultant, Dispensing Professional Services for the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley territories. The Consultant Professional Services (CPS) is a collaborative member of the cross-functional project team responsible for the implementation of the Medication Management Systems at the small to medium hospital level. The CPS’s demonstrated expertise in clinical and technical aspects of Medication Management Systems enhances the credibility of recommendations to Pharmacy, Nursing, and Information Technology stakeholders. The CPS gathers goals and requirements for the system to facilitate effective guidance of the customer during solution design, validation processes, and the design and delivery of an effective customer training plan. The CPS effectively performs the required tasks to ensure timely Go-Lives and customer satisfaction.

The BD GCS Professional Services Department manages, plans and coordinates the implementation of the BD Medication Management Solutions. Teams are assigned to customer projects and accounts based on regional/national organizational structures. Project teams are comprised of internal and external cross functional, multidisciplinary members working in synergy toward the common goal of a successful, on-time implementation. Activities include project management governance, product/solution implementation, workflow assessment, system design, configuration and validation, integration engineering functions and general customer relationship and partnering activities. In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, this department is also responsible for many backend business functions including revenue forecasting and recognition, equipment logistics (including ordering, customer confirmation and return authorizations), implementation methodologies and quality system requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrates industry knowledge and provides design consultation and support for –small - medium hospital level pharmacy/clinical workflow processes.
Guides the customer in activities designed to achieve standardization across small - medium hospital level health systems, and to improve efficiency of current business/practice operations through adoption of best practices.
Demonstrates proficiency in product feature/functionality and operational knowledge of core BD MMS Dispensing products and solutions.
Demonstrates knowledge and complies with established BD MMS Dispensing product implementation methodologies and tools or equivalent industry standards.
Must be detail oriented, and able to deal with multiple projects and competing demands consistent with established company and customer objectives.
Consistently demonstrates administrative discipline including strong time management skills and the ability to maintain numerous priorities while meeting established deadlines, goals and objectives.
Complies with all vendor credentialing requirements.

Maintains confidential information including BD proprietary information.
Education, Experience or Equivalent:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and work experience
Clinical Certification (active or expired) and/or HIT background desired
Expertise in HIS/PIS systems and pharmacy and nursing workflow
Three or more years in healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.
Dispensing software technology experience a plus
Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote)
Exposure to clinical software applications is a plus, including BD Medication Systems Dispensing products
Recent, relevant consulting experience preferred. Experience with small - medium health systems required
Professional License/Certifications preferred
Pharmacy Technician, Informaticist, RN, LPN
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting
Works primarily in a geographically defined territory; however, based on account or project needs, could be assigned outside of the territory or region Travel may range from 60% - 80%, overnight travel included
Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends
Ability to work independently from home office
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards.
Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox), Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis.
