The Production Chemist II supports the manufacture, analysis, and processing of commercial dyes from raw material, intermediate, to finished goods inventory. Additionally, the Production Chemist II will support the scale-up, documentation, and process improvements with their technical knowledge in chemistry. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the production of commercial dyes using established technical SOPs
Perform variety of chemical reactions and subsequent processing, purification, and characterization steps
Work collaboratively with Research, Sustaining Engineering, Process Development, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and other Production Chemists/Supervisor on process improvements and the transfer of new products into Production
Support inventory management of raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods, and retention samples through cycle counts, database management, etc.
Documentation in lab notebooks, batch records, and basic databases
Promote a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices
Other responsibilities or projects as assigned by reporting manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Successful candidate will possess a M.S. degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industry synthetic chemistry lab or a B.S. in Chemistry, Engineering, or Life Science with 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Be a self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a project-oriented team
Strong interpersonal communication skills, effective written and oral communication skills
Strong diagnostic, analytical, and technical ability
Demonstrated systematic problem solving
Experience working in an ISO or QMS environment and with CAPA investigations is strongly preferred
Experience with rotary evaporation and working in a glovebox is preferred
Solid MS Office Knowledge, Intermediate Excel usage is required
