Director, Single Cell Multi-omics Product Development
As our Director, Single Cell Multi-omics Product Development, you will lead development activities related our single cell multi-omics platform. The primary focus will be novel single cell assay development including genomic and proteogenomic applications and compatibility of current assays with new single cell capture consumables and instrumentation to deliver cutting edge multi-omics capabilities. You will work closely with other functional groups to ensure the overall robustness and quality of reagents, consumables and instruments that are supplied to our customers. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of R&D for Single Cell Multi-omics.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and technical direction in defining and achieving reagent, instrument, and consumable development objectives.
- Direct product development activities: partner with engineering, bioinformatics, process development, quality, and operations groups to provide high quality products (reagents and consumables), to internal and external customers.
- Ensure that plans are in place and execute accordingly to clearly establish performance specifications of incoming and outgoing material, including guard banding; establish analytical and functional tests required for qualifying raw material and finished goods.
- Direct QC development, verification and validation activities prior to Tech Transfer
- Lead collaboration efforts with Process Development to ensure specs are finalized, BoMs, SOPs, QC protocols are finalized and ready for process validation.

- Establish strategic goals and objectives and maintain full strategic responsibility for the Product Development team; inspire the team to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
- Provide critical review of scientific literature and data produced by project team members to ensure adequate progression of program/project toward defined goals.
- Interact with peers and executive team to accomplish business objectives.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- 10+ years of experience in developing life science reagents for the US and other key markets.
- Must have rigorous product development experience particularly related to reagent development and manufacturing.
- Hands-on technical knowledge of NGS methods including library preparation, target enrichment, clonal amplification, and sequencing chemistry.
- Must have a reputation or prior track record of being a leading edge scientist in R&D.
- Possess excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead groups of PhD level scientists, Research Associates, and Lab Technicians working on complex projects resulting in the development of commercial products.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a broad cross-functional, cross-enterprise, and cross-cultural teams.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
