Position: Industrial Sales Specialist:
The ideal candidate would be a challenger and a hunter responsible for Identifying, prospecting and closing sales into the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Sterile Manufacturing, Biotech and Personal Care manufacturing space. This individual will work in their region, (Northern California, Oregon, Utah, ) to ensure that all base business is maintained and all new business is serviced after the sale. Works to insure sales growth and market share consistent with budget and business plan.
Takes the lead in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Personal Care, Compound Pharmacy, Academic, and Food accounts in order to drive revenue across the complete portfolio. Is driven to find and pursue opportunities within the assigned market
Interacts with end users and distribution in the assigned accounts to insure complete account control.
Applies Marketing and sales resources to develop, implement and track all targeted programs both direct and through distribution
Accountable for core media sales and capital equipment sales based on assigned budgets. Is accountable for the financial performance at the revenue and profitability level of assigned accounts.
Works closely with other ISS, marketing, and management to adopt a system sell approach into large accounts working with bench personnel to senior managers in both Quality, Laboratory, and Procurement.
This is a Field based, individual contributor position that requires the individual to be the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Personal care market regulatory professional, having a complete knowledge of compendious methods and requirements and a complete understanding of how these regulations impact this market segment from incoming raw material s to process validation and testing.
Ability to work with minimal direction and both self-motivated and self-led to be responsible for an assigned region.
BA / BS in Life Sciences, biological areas, business or related field. Degree in Microbiology preferred.
Minimum 3 years sales success (top 20%) in broad range laboratory products with minimum 1 year laboratory and / or multi-level selling experience preferred.
A combination of pharmaceutical/medical device/Compounding Pharmacy manufacturing sales, food testing sales, or QC/QA or technical selling experience required.
Capital equipment experience preferred.
Prioritizes and initiates direct sales calls with distributors to protect existing sales and identify additional revenue opportunities.
Forecasts activity and closes as required.
Provides continuous support including post sales activities.
Interact with the Service organization to coordinate a successful installation transitioning to the long term customer happiness of the product.
Handles administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget, timely administrative and call reporting, funnel and data entries, new contracts and renewals, use and maintenance of Company assets and adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions.
Experience attaining or exceeding overall sales plan profitability, as well as, other assigned goals and objectives.
Knowledge of selling process and the components to build / maintain customer dedication.
Preparation, presentation and closing skills to include direct sales, use of distribution channel and/or team selling approach.
Strong social skills. Multi-State Territory management, account assessment and relationship development. Analytical with financial orientation applicable to contract proposals and profitability, budget, and expense management.
Ability to develop markets for new technology and new medical practices.
Excellent interpersonal interaction and skils required
Proficient with MS Office applications, and other connectivity devices.
Ability to Travel overnight 50%+ as required to meet performance standards.
