In this role you will work closely with a team of scientists to develop new applications and technology for the Rhapsody single-cell sequencing platform. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background in molecular biology and NGS, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive application, assay, and technology development for the BD Rhapsody platform in collaboration with wetlab and bioinformatics scientists, as well as commercial partners
• Design and perform hands-on experiments to showcase performance of the the BD Rhapsody™ platform in relevant biological systems
• Independently analyze and interpret single-cell genomics data and present data to cross-functional team members
• Compile analyses and develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations showcasing Rhapsody performance
• Provide scientific expertise towards optimizing current product development and towards the development of new product applications

Required Skills:

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or biomedical sciences, or Masters degree plus 8-10 years of industry experience.
• Experience with RNA-seq assays and other next generation sequencing techniques including preparing libraries, sequencing, and analyzing data
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional (non-technical) partners
• Able to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Preferred Skills:

• Immunology expertise
• TCR/BCR sequencing experience
• Proven track record for innovation in industry space (patent applications in molecular biology, genomics, NGS, etc)
• Experience in single-cell space or with antibody conjugation
• Work in spatial transcriptomics space
