BD Integrated Services provides implementation and support of software used by our customers for solutions providing automated infection and pharmacy surveillance, opioid diversion, formulary management and other tools to assist in our customer’s efforts to save lives and reduce costs.

Product Engineer (PE) are responsible for the implementation and integration of clinical information system data (ADT/Census, Lab results, Pharmacy, Surgical, etc.) using data mining and ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes.

Accountabilities

• Build standard and custom clinical data extraction algorithms using HL7 integrations technology, regular expression, and SQL to extract pharmacy and other clinical data types from data streams
• Demonstrates working knowledge of Engineering principles and its application in solving standard and non-standard technical problems
• Support and implement HL7 related services for healthcare data translation and transmission
• Conduct design and peer review of scripts, stored procedures, and special processing
• Participate in ongoing 24x7 data and application monitoring activities on a rotational on-call schedule. 
• Collaborate with medical experts to solve tough healthcare IT problems
• Analyzing issues/requests in order to identify trends and underlying problems
• provide suggestion and work on implementation optimization/improvement project

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3+ years related work experience required
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical concepts
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent analytical skills to comprehensively analyze and interpret policies, procedures and situations in a multifaceted way and possess strong problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks accurately.
• Ability to adhere to procedural and/or regulatory requirements for Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Ability to relate to individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and to work with them in a fair, supportive and cooperative manner.
• Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately and concisely and to non-technical audience/customers.
• Strong working experience using relational databases and Microsoft SQL
• HL7 interface mapping experience using tools such as Corepoint, Cloverleaf, Mirth, or other similar technologies.  
• Knowledge of regular expression preferred.
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes preferred.
• Business Intelligence (BI) experience preferred.
