About The Role
The Global Transportation Manager will be responsible for the execution of global air and ocean transportation strategy. This person will work closely with Regional & Global Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, Warehousing Providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient international transportation operations between the North & Latin America regions and Europe & Greater Asia.
This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Global Transportation.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize cost, service levels, and sustainability
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse providers, and other third-party logistics partners
• Oversee transportation planning operations & ensure continuity of supply through hands-on coordination with freight forwarders and steamship lines.
• Monitor KPIs related to transportation performance, including on-time delivery and booking operations, cost per shipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate logistics processes with business operations
• Provide leadership and guidance to logistics team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to logistics and supply chain management
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Logistics Operations Management, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a multinational corporation
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
• Proven track record of process optimization and operational efficiency improvements
• Experience working with third-party logistics providers and warehouses
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and knowledge of Transportation System landscape
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed (approximately 15%)
