Job Summary:
The Operations and Engagement Coordinator supports/leads Human Resources and plant wide initiatives and administrative responsibilities. Exercises independent judgment in the establishment of priorities. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with all business transactions, correspondence, performance plans, appraisals, compensation and other employee relations issues. Supports the entire Glens Falls Operations Manufacturing Plant.
Job Responsibilities:(Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
- Assist and provide support to associates in navigating BD’s Self-service and Associate Service Centers of Excellence (e.g., Workday, payroll, benefits, etc.).
- Manage new hire orientation coordination, including but not limited to leading various aspects of orientation and Peer Support Coordination.
- Facilitate the on-boarding process to also include I-9 Agent responsibilities, payroll and all required Workday system tasks.
- Facilitate off-boarding activities, such as conducting exit interviews and managing off-boarding notifications.
- Manages the employee engagement process that includes 30-60-90 day check-ins with newly hired employees.
- Create correspondence and communications (letters, employee communications /announcements, slides for plant, organizational announcements etc.) collaboratively with others.
- Lead and support various site associate programs (e.g., Clothing Allowance, Reward and Recognition Programs, Tuition Reimbursement, Appreciation events, etc.).
- Develop, lead and support programs to ensure constant application of policies and associate engagement throughout the plant.
- Works closely with the site HR Manager and HR Business Partner on special projects and assignments.
- Facilitate annual Compliance Training as mandated by corporate.
- Update and maintain communication materials (e.g., bulletin boards, television monitors, etc. plant-wide to ensure information is communicated to all and accurately).
- Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for generating various monthly reports related to associate headcount, turnover data, LOA Tracker, and ad hoc reports as requested.
- Maintain HR Department Filing Room in an organized and timely manner, and complete filing as required.
- Support year-end HR processes (e.g., annual comp, bonus, off-cycle promotions).
- At times, it may be required to perform duties on the second and/or third shifts to support associates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associates or two (2) year degree, plus two (2) years of administrative experience; Or
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus three (3) years of administrative experience in Human Resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience using Human Resources and payroll related applications (e.g. Workday, ADP, etc.)
- Must have strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to complete special projects independently.
- Must have the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
- Must be able to handle highly confidential information.
- Must be able to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Must show initiative, good judgment, ability to assume responsibilities, manage and work independently.
- Maintains personal computer skill levels compatible with current technology used within the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Administrative experience with Human Resources related programs or processes.
- Project Management experience.
Training Requirements:
On-the-job, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) required for position, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to perform various physical tasks for an entire shift (excluding breaks) which may include but are not limited to: Sitting and/or standing, reaching, occasional lifting (up to 35 lbs., over 35 lbs. with assistance) and using a computer keyboard/mouse.
- Ability to safely perform area-specific gowning procedures. These may include but are not limited to: Donning a smock with zippers and/or snaps, sitting or standing (with a safety bar) to apply shoe covers over the top of shoes, applying gloves, walking over or around benches in the transition area, and bending, stooping, and reaching motions.
- Ability to utilize all area-specific PPE including but not limited to: Eye protection, respiratory protection and hearing protection as required.
Work Environment: (if applicable)
General office and medical device manufacturing environment. May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes. Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be maintained by the associate.
