The Sr. Transfer Engineer is responsible for provide technical support and execute all the activities required for successful completion of Transfer Projects following all applicable procedures (Design or Technology Transfer).
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Projects may involve process transfers (site-to-site or Design-to-site) from Suppliers and other company sites, Tooling development and Equipment Transfer, including associated validation activities.
- Once the transfer is complete, is responsible for supporting the implementation of manufacturing procedures and train production trainers.
- To support on the completion of deliverable forms and activities required for every Phase Review, including the following (when applicable):
- Create BOM based on Sending Site information.
- Coordinate the process Flow Chart development and cell layout with the Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Manufacturing Supervisor.
- To develop a list and purchase the equipment and tooling associated with the transfer.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute validation protocols and reports including equipment installation, process characterization, calibration activities, spare part list, establish min-max system in the Tool Crib, etc. for Process transfers.
- Support in the execution and/or follow up of special production orders for new product launches. Perform and document laboratory notebook studies.
- Create the new product DMR documentation as product drawings, BOMs, routings, manufacturing procedures, tooling drawings, raw material specifications, etc.
- Provide guidance on technical/documentation issues to develop other engineers on the team.
- Provide follow up to project tasks and perform Phase reviews in absence of Project Manager/Leader.
- Participate actively in the DMR reviews, CRs reviews, and collaborate with QE, QC and SQA functions
- Support the implementation of manufacturing procedures and train the production trainers
- Support activities to prepare and capture AFE’s on system.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Technicians and Associate Engineers to provide guidance, support, and feedback.
- Participate in budget development activities and expense controls in projects under his/her supervision.
- Support process validations, equipment test methods and fixtures.
- Design of fixtures for new manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical (preferred), Industrial, Electronic Engineering or other Engineering field.
- A master’s degree, Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing Certification (preferred).
Knowledge and Training
- Microsoft Project (preferred)
- SolidWorks or other CAD experience (preferred)
- Ability to solve manufacturing problems, effectiveness in introducing new methods, fixtures, and equipment in production.
- Capable to use problem solving methodologies
- Statistical and Quality tools experience
Experience
- 4 years in manufacturing area experience.
- Experience as Manufacturing Engineer or Quality Engineer.
Skills
- Ability to identify, solve and document manufacturing problems.
- Ability to participate in the review of a machine, fixture, or process to technically assess any issue and solve it or propose a viable solution.
- Effective in transferring manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment from site to site.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Dynamic and positive attitude with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Also, able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
