Job Description Summary

Support day to day Machine Shop operations by providing first line support as Quality Assurance Inspector. Demonstrate working Machine Shop Knowledge with hands- on understanding of blueprints. and GD&T tolerancing is a job requirement. Candidate must demonstrate excellent computer skills as well as proficiency in both written and oral communication. CMM/Vision System programming and operation is preferred for this position.
Advanced skills in basic hand measuring tools, Height Guage, Optical Comparator, are required for this job. Additional expectation will include continued implementation of AQL (Acceptable Quality Limits) as it applies to sample lot size inspection criteria as determined by both part complexity and drawing tolerance.

Responsibilities:

1) Provide the ACM Machine Shop with Quality Assurance support in the form of courtesy inspections on in process parts and final inspection of finished components.

2)Understand the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit ) of sample inspection by specific detail attribute.   3)Manage personal time and resources to ensure work orders are completed on schedule.

4) Ensure emergency work orders receive top priority.

5) Maintain quality inspection equipment in calibrated and excellent working condition.

6) Complete team assignments to support workload requirements.

7) Train, mentor ACM Machinists in self-inspection techniques.

8) Ensure all equipment and area are properly cleaned and maintained per Preventative Maintenance and 5S guidelines.

9) Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities through blitz participation (as required), making suggestions (Kaizens) and otherwise improving processes, quality, and productivity.

10) Read, interpret, and understand a drawing (standard and metric) including fundamentals of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

11)Capable of using various precision measurement devices and techniques. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Hazardous waste regulations.

12) Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

13) Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirement:

• Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
