About the role:
The Becton Dickinson Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) seeks a Sr. Software Architect designing and architecting a software platform to enable our product teams to innovate and our BD customers to engage in a single BD experience.
This position requires an enthusiastic technical leader with a rare mix of intelligence, integrity, empathy, and technical skill that allows you to focus on building a technical architecture through collaboration, business outcome focus, and aligning to best practices.
Essential job duties
• Responsible for designing reliable, secure, efficient, and cost-effective systems in the cloud using modern architecture paradigms such as microservices, event-driven architecture and cell-based architectures.
• Responsible for consistently measuring product architectures against best practices, identify areas for improvement and work with the product team for addressing the shortcomings.
• Responsible for architecture/technical community development and nurturing.
• Responsible for architecture and design alignment across products and projects.
Architecture skills
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and influencing without authority.
• Solid understanding and experience with Silo, Pool and Bridge SaaS architecture patterns.
• Experience in architecting constructs, libraries, reusable assets to developers that hides the notion of tenancy and underlying infrastructure.
• Experience in architecting products with tenant isolation, data partitioning, noisy neighbors’ considerations for multi-tenant SaaS products.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Experience in architecting a frictionless, scalable self-service model of onboarding tenants that allows for growth in customer base that doesn’t necessarily expand the operational or infrastructure footprint of the SaaS environment.
• Experience in architecting SaaS products that instruments, captures, and analyzes metrics and product feature usage at the tenant levels.
Experience Required
• Hands on experience in building and operationalizing multi-tenant SaaS products in cloud (AWS).
• Deep understanding of API-first development and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, and Golang.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Angular, and React.
• Proficiency in AWS a REQUIREMENT
Educational requirements
• Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study AND Four (4) Years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study AND Six (6) Years of experience
