About the role

The Senior Program Manager role is an exciting opportunity to lead flagship clinical diagnostic reagent and assay program(s) at BD Biosciences. While based in Limerick, Ireland, the role spans across several program management activities in Europe and the US.

Leading multi-functional Core Team(s) and Program Team(s) within a matrix and ISO-compliant organization, the Senior Program Manager will guide programs through a structured New Product Development process and ensure on-time and on-budget program delivery.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead multi-functional Core Teams and Program Teams within a matrix and ISO-compliant organization.

  • Drive programs through technical, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercial problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Ensure urgency, accountability, and predictability in program delivery.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of Project Management methodologies.

  • Drive continuous improvement and agility in product development processes.

  • Lead complex, multi-year reagents and assays new product development programs.

  • Generate novel process-based solutions for timely and cost-effective product market entry.

  • Demonstrate project and program management best practices and contribute to process improvement.

  • Lead teams across multiple sites and time zones for effective product development.

  • Conduct thorough assessments of technical and program risks, mitigate risks, and plan responses.

  • Define roles, responsibilities, goals, and deliverables for core and extended team members.

  • Ensure effectiveness and rigor of technical and design reviews.

  • Incorporate customer perspectives into every aspect of product development.

  • Represent internal and external customers’ viewpoints in technical and program decisions.

  • Work with industry/advocacy groups as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Global Product Development System and Design Control requirements.

  • Collaborate with functional leadership to address program needs and resolve risks and conflicts.

  • Keep stakeholders informed of work completion status relative to scheduled deadlines.

  • Address quality assurance and regulatory compliance questions/issues with management.

  • Conduct program update presentations to the Business Leadership Team and represent the program to the broader organization.

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; a post-graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or PhD) is preferred.

  • Minimum of eight years of experience in project and/or program management.

  • Proven track record of leading clinical diagnostic assays development programs through successful early-stage commercialization.

  • Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, medical device, or diagnostic industries.

  • Experience working in Design Control, Change Management, ISO, and regulated EMA and FDA environments.
