Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)
Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for general facility maintenance and assisting other facility maintenance staff members with all maintenance activities as directed.Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
• Performs general facility maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds, as required.
• Maintain MHE batteries, as required.
• Uses judgment to plan, perform, troubleshoot, and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks.
• May be required to work on off shift and/or weekends, and must be available for call in activity.
• Become knowledgeable of the responsibilities of the other warehouse positions. Assist as required. Act as back up at times of absence or vacation.
Education and Experience:
• High school education or GED, preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in maintenance, required.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills in relation to modification, construction and repairs of facility and facility equipment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Ability to operate MHE.
• Must have a broad knowledge of hand tools and maintenance equipment.

The associate may occasionally be required to climb. The job may require lifting over 50lbs in some areas but not all. Associate must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE [Material Handling Equipment] in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
Work Environment: (if applicable)
The noise level is moderate to loud. There will almost always be exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations and potential temperature excursions. Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes/airborne particles.

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain all production equipment in good working order by performing scheduled maintenance and repairs as directed by supervisor. This will include preventive maintenance (scheduled maintenance) on automated manufacturing equipment and process systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairing equipment. The incumbent will also be responsible for installing new equipment, and modifications to existing equipment. In addition, the incumbent may perform limited maintenance activities at the corporate facilities located within the geographic area. Incumbents are expected to learn more complex technical tasks and skills through cross-training.
Schedule/Shift: 2nd Shift | Mon - Fri | 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment and process systems
Troubleshoot and repair equipment
Install new equipment and modifications to existing equipment
Assist in determining priority needs for preventative maintenance
Maintain work records; prepare reports on equipment condition and maintenance activities
Cross-train in other areas as needed
Work independently or as part of a team
Support safety initiatives by participating in investigations and making recommendations to management regarding safety improvements
Participate in training programs as required
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred
Conveyor Systems maintanance experience required
Previous experience in industrial maintenance preferred
Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and processes, and the ability to read and understand manuals and drawings
General knowledge of machinery maintenance and lubrication practices, including procedures for greasing, oiling, cleaning and purging systems
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams
Basic computer literacy
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience using power tools and wrenches
Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, mechanics, motors, drives, and control systems
Good communication skills
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. frequently
Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights
