Job Description Summary

The Sr. Molding Engineer is responsible to sustain the molding operation, molds validation, as well as to plan the facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel utilization to improve efficiency of the operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the capacity of specialized technical and operating personnel required for the operation.
• Plan the molding area strategically.
• Review and authorize the process flow charts.
• Create Organizational Charts.
• Review products designs, process developments, and work schedules.
• Responsible to generate savings or continuous improvement projects (CTW).
• Eliminate non-value-added activities (Optimize molding process)
• Continuous improvement on cycle time.
• Responsible for metrics compliance (SAFETY, OEE, MTTR, MTBF, SCRAP)
• Responsible to create troubleshooting guide for molding problems.
• Develop new scientific molding processes with decoupled molding methodology.
• Develop validation protocols and reports (FAT, SAT, PDS).
• Collaborate with physical design on workstation, tooling, and molding processes.
• Implement systems for better efficiency.
• Conduct corrective actions and ergonomic assessments.
• Reinforce work area safety conditions.
• Develop New Manufacturing Operation Processes (automation, semi-automation, etc.)
• Collaborate on quantitative models with the Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Supervisor to plan capacity for the short, medium, and long term.
• Estimate new process development investments (CB2).
• Lead the Lean Manufacturing initiatives (SMED PDCA).
• Select and evaluate equipment, process, and labor introduction budget during the line transfers in coordination with the project leaders.
• Search for solutions applying the statistical methodology on defect analysis, for fixing the root causes.

Qualifications:

• Industrial Engineering, Molding Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer, Electronic Engineer.
• High level of knowledge in molding processes RJG, Routsis or Similar (plastics and LSR) Solid Works, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Office, Office Tools, and Visio.
• 5 years of experience as a Sr. Molding Engineer.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, teamwork.
• Dynamic and proactive, customer service focus.
• Positive attitude with good interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient, ability to solve problems, responsible.
• Bilingual, English, and Spanish, written and spoken, able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English (preferred).
