Position Summary
Responsible for all activities on the production floor to include quality, productivity, employee relations, training, safety and housekeeping. Ensures efficient use of equipment and materials to produce quality products in accordance with regulations and client requirements. Responsible for training of employees including orientation, training and retraining of all personnel as required.

Responsibilities

• Plans daily work assignments for assigned department to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

• Promotes continuous improvement by driving Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.  

• Fosters teamwork and communication among departments and shifts.  

• Maintains high level of safety awareness and compliance.  

• Coordinates and communicates daily production goals and objectives to department staff.  

• Observes service functions to identify operational problems and recommends solutions.  

• Maintains accurate records and files.  

• Reviews timecards and ensures proper coding of all entries.  

• Approves or rejects all transactions involving labor charges.  

• Determines appropriate action when deviations occur from established procedures.  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.  

• Two years supervisory experience preferred.  

• Experience in a distribution environment preferred.  

• Strong leadership skills with proven success in people management.  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

• Proficient computer skills.  

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  

• Available for occasional overtime.
