Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

As a Sales Training Leader, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating sales training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the Diagnostic Solutions (DS) sales team and aligning training with overall sales strategy and business goals. This position includes implementation of sales training initiatives and programs for field sales associates including selling skills, product and clinical knowledge, and value-based solutions.
Collaboration with the Vice President US DS Sales, Regional Business Managers and DS US Marketing Team for the development of training programs, tools, and talent development for current and new DS sales associates within the US Region is essential.
By taking a comprehensive approach to sales training, the Sr. Manager of DS Sales Training can drive revenue growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce turnover. It's a critical role that requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, as well as a deep understanding of sales principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Diagnostics Solution US Training team in creation and implementation of all training and on-boarding sessions, resources, and sales effectiveness processes across the US Region.  Coach, develop and performance manage this training team to be high performing.

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement within the sales team. 

  • Design and develop comprehensive sales training programs, including onboarding for new hires and ongoing training that caters to the specific needs of the team.

  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions using various methods, including classroom training, virtual training, and coaching. 

  • Collect and analyze training metrics, such as sales performance and customer feedback, to evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs. This involves conducting post-training assessments and surveys to identify areas for improvement and adjusting the training programs accordingly.

  • Collaborate with sales leaders to ensure that training programs align with overall sales strategy and business goals. 

  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to sales representatives to improve their performance. 

  • Responsible for developing training schedules and curricula that is aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.  

  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and incorporate them into training programs. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency in CRM systems like Salesforce, Showpad or similar platforms, which will enable analysis of sales performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other training tools, which will support the design, delivery, and tracking of training programs.

    • Selling expertise with significant knowledge of hospital/laboratory products

    • Cross Functional collaboration and communication skills

    • Proactively identify and respond to changes in business environment

    • Effective presentation skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in business or relevant field

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in sales or sales management roles, where you've learned the intricacies of sales processes and developed a deep understanding of what makes sales teams tick.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in training or learning and development positions, where you've honed your skills in adult learning, instructional design, and training delivery.

  • Experience in the medical device and Diagnostics industry preferred

  • Travel 50-60% domestically with frequent travel to Sparks, MD and other events such as national sales meetings, trade shows, training facilities, etc
